Paradise Sailing & Snorkeling

Beach Resort

Hoping to do a sailing excursion while you visit Grand Cayman?  Wanting to swim with the Stingrays, sail into the sunset or book a charter to do some snorkeling on the barrier reef?  If a boating adventure is your idea of how to enjoy the crystal clear Caribbean Seas and sunshine synonymous with Cayman, look no further than Paradise Sailing and Snorkeling.  Passenger Picks recently caught up with Bill Baldwin, owner of Paradise Sailing and Snorkeling, to find out why a sail to see the Rays offers a pristine and unique experience like none other.

PP:  Bill, obviously you love to sail, purchasing a beautiful 44 ft Catamaran with all the whistles and bells.  Tell us more about what folks can expect.

BB:  When you take one of our Sail Grand Cayman excursions; you will be able to enjoy a fabulous journey, lasting over 3 hours, feeling the gentle movement of the ocean and warm calm breeze Cayman has to offer.  Our skilled crew will make certain that your sailboat is not just beautiful, but safe and fun.  In addition to our morning and afternoon excursions, you can further choose to go on a romantic sunset sail which will give you the opportunity to experience a stunning tropical sunset from at sea.

PP:  That sounds awesome!  Let’s first start with your sail to the Rays.  There are many ways to enjoy the friendly southern stingrays.  Why choose a sail to experience the Rays?

BB:  Well, the Stingray City deluxe sail is a must not miss adventure!  Come relax with us in the morning and feed the stingray's as we sail from Camana Bay to the world famous Stingray City Sandbar where you will have a chance to swim and feed the gentle southern stingrays.

PP:  Playing with the Rays is definitely an experience not to be missed.  What’s next on that particular sail?

BB:  Next is a stop at Starfish Point where you can walk the beach, view the starfish, swim in the warm water.  After Starfish Point, we go to the reef for Snorkeling.

PP:  Tell us about where to meet your boat for departure.

BB:  We depart from Camana Bay at 9:30am.We like to leave early to beat the crowds and the tour includes snorkeling gear and the option of a photographer, arriving back around 2:30 p.m.

PP:  So then, is lunch also included?

BB:  Oh yes!  We serve a lunch with your choice of a Caymanian Style Steamed Fish Lunch or an Italian Pasta with homemade vegetarian sauce.  This favorite excursion starts at US $99.00/person, $49 per Child (under 12) and kids under 2 are free.

PP:  Wow, sounds delicious!  What an awesome day!  Earlier you also mentioned a different excursion, your Sunset Sail.  Tell us more about that one.

BB:  The Sunset Sail is two hours of taking in the spectacular beauty of the Caribbean sun and ocean at its most captivating hour.  With great music on board and a cash bar, you are bound to have a fabulous time.  Adult rates start at just US $39.00 for a two hour cruise Monday- Saturday.

PP:  Sounds like a relaxing and romantic evening.  So, can you accommodate private charters?

BB:  Certainly!  The Paradise Breeze – is a very large, custom modified Voyage 44' is extremely wide and can hold 40 people comfortably, and up to 50 guests maximum.  It features a lot of shaded space in the cockpit area for 25+ people, also a lot of sun space to lay out and work on your tan.  Two large forward trampolines, two bow seats, seating for 4 with your feet in the water at the stern and up to 8 along the back, are the favorite seats on the boat.  Starting at $400/hour you can stop at world famous Stingray City where you can feed and pet these awesome and friendly creatures.  Bring your towel and a sense of fun and be ready to be amazed by the naturally-domesticated southern Atlantic stingrays.

PP:  Tell us more about the amenities you offer your guests.

BB:  We have so much to offer on our modern sail boat.  We have two fresh water shower on deck, two fresh water shower in cabins, clean and comfortable restrooms, easy access boarding ladders, a huge shaded area, plenty of space to lay out for sun including two large trampolines at bow to lay out and relax.  We also have snorkel gear and floatation devices, an iPod ready stereo system.  Our crew is a minimum of four including our Captain, 1st mate, bartender, and a photographer to cater to your needs.  All of them are CPR and safety trained.  And of course our boat is equipped with safety gear.
